After breakfast at the Premier Inn we set off out of Liverpool heading for North Wales, via Knowsley Safari Park.
We arrived at the park with a roof box on, but we were told that it would not be possible to go through the monkey enclosure with the roof box on. The staff kindly agreed to store the roof box at the entrance building and 15 mins later we were in the park.
There are quite a few walk around areas and the peacock was particularly on form giving us a good display.
Also meerkats...
No, it's not dead, just soaking up the Sun!
The main feature of the Safari Park is the drive around, which covers quite a large area, and was not very busy at this time of the year.
Lioness in the road!
The best bit, in my opinion, is the monkey enclosure, enter at your own risk as they like car aerials and wipers in particular!
We got off lightly though, with no real damage only various pieces of rock left on top of the car and some seriously smeary marks (we did need new wiper blades though)
We enjoyed it so much, that after a short break at the cafe, we drove around again.
Excellent day. We drove on to North Wales, but the weather was terrible and so no pictures!
